User Agreement

Following is a summary of the terms and conditions that apply to all purchases made from Emergency Preparedness.  

1. Orders & Delivery:

All orders placed through this website are subject to confirmation and acceptance by Emergency Preparedness. Generally orders will be provisioned and fulfilled within one business day or if received out of business hours then the next business day. If there are any delays with the order placed a member of the Emergency Preparedness customer service team will contact you to advise of the delay and expected delivery date. 

Goods are sent via TNT or where TNT is not available (i.e. residential addresses) Australia Post. Standard delivery is expected to be between 2 and 10 business days. 

Emergency Preparedness may vary prices in the event of price changes or mistakes made by suppliers on reasonable prior notice to you. Emergency Preparedness may refuse an order for any product at its sole discretion if it believes that the order contravenes Emergency Preparedness Acceptable Usage Policy or might be a fraudulent order.

2. Returns & Refunds

In the event of a fault with any of the goods supplied Emergency Preparedness will arrange a refund or replacement of the goods.

If you would like to arrange return of the goods and a refund due to a change of mind this will be at the discretion of Emergency Preparedness. If accepted, you the customer will be responsible for the cost of any freight and a $20 restocking fee.

Any refunds that are required will be processed only to the same method used to make the order. This includes to the same credit card number / account if the payment was by credit card. In the event that the card is lost, stolen or cancelled Emergency Preparedness may require confirmation from the card provider or issuing bank for any change.

Full refunds including shipping will be provided for all goods with major faults/defects as per Australian Consumer Law. 


3. Prices, Payment & Credit Card Information

For each order, you must pay:

  • the applicable price for the relevant goods confirmed by Emergency Preparedness; and
  • the delivery and handling fee specified on the web site at that time if required; and
  • any applicable taxes such as Goods and Services Tax in Australia.

Your order and credit card details are safe and secure. All personal and credit card information provided to Emergency Preparedness is encoded using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, an encryption protocol that protects data as it travels over the Internet. We only accept payments using the methods stated in the orders & payment section of this website.

You credit card information will be processed by the payment provider that you select during the check-out process. All payment providers used by Emergency Preparedness are PCI DSS Compliant. Emergency Preparedness is also PCI DSS Compliant. Emergency Preparedness will not store your credit card data in our website or web servers.

Payment must be cleared before the goods are dispatched unless you have approved credit facilities with Emergency Preparedness.

Emergency Preparedness maintains a Privacy Policy that defines what we will do with your personal information.

4. Products and Services

Emergency Preparedness offers a comprehensive range of first aid supplies, first aid equipment and first aid kits.

5. Your Account

You agree to take responsibility for the safekeeping of your user name and password. You are liable if your user name or password is used by an unauthorised person. You agree to release and indemnify Emergency Preparedness in connection with any use (whether authorised or unauthorised) of your user name or password. Emergency Preparedness may suspend or cancel your account at any time without prior notice.

6. Images and specifications

Images that are displayed on the Emergency Preparedness websites are for informational and marketing purposes and do not represent the actual contents of a product or service. Please refer to the detail product description and the Additional Product Information for specifications. The features and functions of individual products may be changed or updated from time to time.

7. Privacy

Emergency Preparedness will comply with Emergency Preparedness Privacy Policy. Emergency Preparedness will not reveal your personal information to external organizations except for the purposes of fulfilling your order.

8. Liability

Any liability of Emergency Preparedness in connection with goods or services supplied to you will, subject to any non-excludable liability for breach of conditions or warranties implied by legislation and to the maximum extent permitted by law, at the election of Emergency Preparedness be limited to: 1. in relation to goods, the replacement of the goods or the supply of equivalent goods; and 2. in relation to services, the supplying of the services again or the payment of the cost of having the services supplied again.

9. Changes To Terms

Each order is governed by the terms and conditions current when the order is placed. Emergency Preparedness may add to, delete or otherwise change these terms and conditions without notice. It is your responsibility to read and understand these terms and conditions each time you place an order.

10. Applicable Law

All purchases, and these terms and conditions, are subject to the laws of Victoria, Australia.

11. Credit Card Data and PCI DSS Compliance

Emergency Preparedness hosting environment and ecommerce software packages are Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliant, you can find out more from their website at www.pcisecuritystandards.org.

Our website and hosting service provider undergoes an annual PCI compliance review using a Qualified Security Audit company which is BEA Systems. 

PCI DSS requires that you do not store credit card data unencrypted on your website. This includes where credit card information might be added to notes on orders or customer records. Emergency Preparedness will scan for credit card data on a regular basis and hash out (destroy) the card number that is stored. Emergency Preparedness reserves the right, without recourse, to take offline any online store that is found to be storing credit card data until the situation has been rectified.
